RIP Mighty Sparrow, your music will live on for generations to come. My deepest condolences to the Francisco's family.

Mr. Francisco has been a constant presence in my life, and those of my generation, since the day I opened my eyes in 1959. It is not enough to say that he was the Bard of the Caribbean, though his allegiance was never to a single patron. Rather, his allegiance was to humanity, to the downtrodden, to our region, to fun, to human feeling, and to fairness the world over. His craftsmanship and insight were golden, and he was no less a poet than Keats or Blake. I hope that our people truly comprehend his contribution and, thereby, the depths of our loss now that he has drawn his final breath. I offer my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. It is no small task to forge a way forward now that this colossal pillar of our culture has departed, but he has set a standard that lights the way. May the universe receive him and hold him dear.

My mother, Joyce Knights-Nathan - with whom you were acquainted - had informed me when I was a child that you both were born in the year 1935, she having been born on February 27. The Creator of our Universe, Jehovah God - in concert with His Son, Jesus Christ - has promised via His Word, the Holy Bible, to restore life to the billions of dead after He ushers in a Paradisaic, Utopian New World which is in the offing.

The King of Calypso. May he Rest In Peace 🕊

A legend gone, but will not be forgotten. I grew up listening to his music. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the entire family and music community.

As we say farewell to a premier entertainer, educator and icon/the Calypso King of the World, my family and I extend sincerest condolences to his family and friends. May he RIP in His arms.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family of our beloved Mighty Sparrow 👑 - A true “ Trini to de Bone” from my family and me.

Through a mutual friend, I had the privilege of speaking with him just a couple of months ago, and I was so happy to hear that his voice still sounded as wonderful as ever.
The singing voice that carried our culture across the world, bringing joy, pride, and inspiration to generations.

Spa’s talent, timeless calypso music, and incomparable contribution to the world will forever remain a part of our history and our hearts.

Little did I know that it would be one of my last opportunities to speak with this extraordinary legend.

Though we mourn his passing, his music will never die, and his legacy will live on for generations to come.

May God grant his family strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time. May they find comfort in knowing that the world shares in their grief and celebrates the remarkable life of a man whose voice touched millions.

Rest peacefully, Mighty Sparrow. Thank you for the music, the memories, and the legacy you leave behind. You will never be forgotten.

The sweet thing about "Mighty Sparrow" was the smiles his songs and performance brought to the faces of millions of "Sparrow Calypso Dancers". As a child I just love the rhythm/beats, it was infectious.
My heart felt condolences to the entire family, and Nation.

Accept my sympathy. I was born in Trinidad and grew up listening to the Mighty Sparrow. My favorite is Jean and Dinah and Saltfish. The last time that I saw him was when he performed at Sugarhill Restaurant in Brooklyn. May he Rest in God’s Power
